My host had an outage today. That’s why, if you tried, you couldn’t reach this blog — or much else it has online.

I was reading threads on X, and people were mad. Hey, it’s technology. Things go wrong. It’s not like outages are a usual thing with this host.

And hopefully, they won’t become one.

Now I have to go read my feeds, since my feed reader was offline all day as well. I must say, it was kind of nice not having them to check :)

I'm in a weird mood. I think I'm losing hope that the person I'm caregiving for is ever going to walk unassisted again. He's slower than ever, for no apparent reason. It could be dementia causing it, but our neurologist appointment isn’t until late September. Who knows what condition he'll be in by then.

I also don't feel like eating. I'll probably eat dinner, but that'll be it. All I have in me right now is coffee.

Additionally, I'm wondering how much I should tell my psychiatrist during my virtual visit tomorrow. My mind has been drifting into negative places, but it's always temporary. Today, I just don't care about much. I'm going through the motions and feeling numb about it all. I'm not in a positive mood or a negative mood — I just am.

And whatever happens, happens.

So, I suppose things could be worse. I could be getting mad about everything. There's no point in that, though.

It will change nothing.

Why does Led Zep never get old?

Your thoughts on how their sound has consistently remained top shelf while other bands from the 70s tend to lose their luster.

My opinion, seeing as how yes, I've thought about this before:

My guess is song structure. A lot of their choruses, where there is a chorus at all, are just music. Some songs where there are choruses they just say the name of the song. Some of it's put together weird, and it's my understanding that was purposely done. It retains freshness because the parts of the songs are good, and it's not what the ear gets from other artists/bands.

Am I right or am I wrong?

I have no idea what I smell like. I have no idea what anything smells like. All I can do is spray. Spray the day away.

What's odd is that I taste what I smell when I floss my teeth.

I don't get that.

How does one taste a smell? I think my senses are mixing together.

Throughout the years, I’ve noticed a small degree of this in my life. And about a week ago, something a bit more… interesting happened.

I was driving down a road I travel almost every day, and suddenly the scene lost all familiarity. I didn’t know where I had been, where I was going, where I was, or anything. It passed after about 20 seconds, but left me worried somewhat.

Could it have been a harbinger of things to come?

I surely do hope not. But with the way things are going for some people around me, who knows.

The Opposite of Déjà Vu Exists And It's Even Stranger

Try this: write your own name on a scrap of paper. Now write it again. And again – ten, twenty, thirty times in a row, as fast as you can manage.

Somewhere around the middle of that list, there's a decent chance something strange will happen.

The opposite of déjà vu gets far less attention: a familiar face, word, or place suddenly striking you as wrong, alien, or unreal, even though you know perfectly well it isn't.

Psychologists call it jamais vu – literally, "never seen."

It shows up in strange, small ways.
